It’s still National Trustees’ Week !
We’re part way into our 5 days of events coinciding with National Trustees’ Week.
We launched our week at our “Join Us and Make a Difference” charity Trustee recruitment workshop on Monday. OpenDoor hosted us, Empower provided food and a variety of people from Member and Friend organisations dropped in to hear about Trusteeship and Good Governance, to join in workshop discussions about better ways to recruit Trustees, and to generally informally network whilst focusing on the important work that charity trustees do.
Our Tuesday session then focused on Young Trustees. Another informal session allowed us to explore the issues around getting more younger people to get on board with charity boards or committees. The discussions explored the benefits to young people (and to the charities themselves) and we worked through a range of ideas on how to support younger people going forward.
So thanks to everyone who has been involved so far in the week.
Wednesday focuses on “Technology and Trustees”. Our Thursday “Roles and Responsibilities of Trustees” training is completely full. And there’s still the chance to join us at Grimsby Minster on Friday morning (in the café area) for our casual “Tea and Trustees” conversation. Any Trustees who’d like to chat about issues or ideas that they have – just pop in during the morning.
A summary of the week’s schedule is available here.
