After months of preparation IGNITE’s Battle of the Bands event took place last Friday at Moon on the Water in Cleethorpes. The event was a huge success raising £781 to be divided between Women’s Aid and Youth Music as part of ‘Give a Gig’ week. Read on for full details.
Funding between £500 and £2500 is available via the Humberside Youth Association grants for people aged 18-24. Initial applications are via VANEL and in round 1 there were a number of successful applicants. Round 2 is now open until end April so get your applications in! After a successful two-year run we are sad to report that VANEL’s Community Health Champions project will be coming to a close at the end of March. The project has engaged with over a thousand people since it started and visited a number of locations across North East Lincolnshire. Project Co-ordinator Vickie Ehret would like to say a big thank you to the volunteers who supported the programme and the members of the public who engaged with it.
On Thursday 16th March Lincolnshire’s High Sherriff will award volunteers from the Grimsby Institute and members of VANEL’s IGNITE team with their LVC certificates. Read on to find out more about the LVC programme and the presentation ceremony.
