Over the summer holidays VANEL supported the delivery of ‘story time’ sessions each week for six weeks in two Family Hubs – Reynolds in Cleethorpes and West Marsh in Grimsby.
Our colleague Fumiko Czarnecki delivered all of the sessions. In each session the children listen to a story; do a craft or activity related to the book; sing a song (often with percussion instruments) and play a game. Whichever book is read, copies were then funded to be handed to the children when they attend the next session.
Overall 12 sessions with 12 different books reached 64 small children aged 2-4 (accompanied by their adults).
A simple programme which arose from our Little Green Influencers connection with each of the Family Hubs and was well received by all the attending children.
