Give VANEL your vote. We’re with Coop Community Fund to help our community work

Coop supports good causes through their Local Community Fund. VANEL is now listed for 2026-27 as a good cause and needs your vote to help us to raise mney to support our hub and community engagement work

VANEL is proud of the work we do to support our communities – very especially the local community around our Community Hub in Cleethorpes. We need to keep these efforts going so we’ve joined with Co-Op as part of their support for local causes to see if we can raise some funds.

Through the Co-op members vote on local causes they’d like to support – and we’re really keen for people to support us.

Our local cause page can be found on the Co-Op website here:

(We’re local cause 102444)

You have to be a Co-op member to vote – but it only costs £1 to join if you’re not already a member.

If you can, and are able to, please take a look and pop us a vote! Every little helps.

Of course if you’re local, why not pop into our community hub and find out directly what we do. Head here to see all our hub newsletters so you can keep up with what we do.

And here’s more about what we’ve said about our cause…

We will invite people to grow, prepare, cook and share food using our community allotment and hub spaces. They will organise monthly community events to attract more people to benefit and socialise.

Our charity’s purpose is to promote activities for the benefit of the community in North East Lincolnshire to improve education, health and wellbeing, reduce poverty, distress and sickness, and improve people’s lives who live in disadvantaged communities. To achieve this, we enable residents to volunteer together and community groups to collaborate, so they can benefit people living in our disadvantaged communities. We listen to what individuals and groups are telling us about their immediate needs and work together to secure funding and help to address them. We mainly support older people aged over 60 years, vulnerable adults and families with young children aged under 12 years living in poverty.

Our community welcome spaces project will connect older residents in our surrounding communities. We will do this by supporting people to grow food, prepare and share meals together, to bring people closer naturally and enable conversations about social activities they enjoy. Residents will then plan and promote monthly community events either in our hub or on our allotment, so more people living in our communities can benefit while improving community cohesion and reducing isolation.
