Volunteer Development Service (VDS)

VANEL runs a subscription based Volunteer Development Service (VDS) programme to allow us to support local charities, community groups and voluntary organisations who engage with volunteers.

If your organisation uses volunteers – however many – then we can help support you to promote opportunities or provide one-to-one support and advice on issues around volunteering management that can help you and your team.

VDS members can join in our bi-monthly Volunteer Managers Network (VMN) zoom meetings to network with other local managers and learn together, share best practice and support each other.

VANEL will also actively promote your volunteer opportunities across our various channels and networks. We have a very active Facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/volunteergy – and as VANEL we also have extensive networks across the whole of North East Lincolnshire to ‘spread the word’.

VANEL promotes Volunteers Week each year and members of our network collectively plan approaches to support each other as part of this.

Whilst we don’t specifically provide formal training courses around volunteering, members of our network are able to request advice and have conversations around volunteering related issues and the VANEL team will work to provide signposting and support where possible.

We’re believers in best practice in volunteering, so we spend our time working with members of our Volunteer Development Service and network to ensure we’re all supporting volunteers in our area to the best of our ability.

VDS Membership

VDS membership is an add-on to VANEL membership. VDS Membership costs a total of £75 per year per organisation. This INCLUDES the £25 VANEL membership fee. So if you are already a VANEL member then the additional fee is £50.

At the prices of coffee these days, that’s not much more than the cost of a coffee each month to get our additional, experienced support!

To discuss membership, speak with Liz at VANEL who runs our volunteer offers.
