About the Tribune Trust

High Sheriffs are the Sovereign’s representative for all matters relating to the Judiciary and the maintenance of law and order in their county. Our Patrons are the Lord Lieutenants of the county of the East Riding of Yorkshire and the county of Lincolnshire. Our Trustees are serving, former and future High Sheriffs of these counties together with leaders from local businesses and Humberside Police; Humberside Fire and Rescue Service and others involved with community safety.

The Trust’s steering group meets to consider grant applications in January, May, July and October each year. It is led by a Chair and coordinated by the Director, each of whom is elected annually (currently Paul Cheesman). See website here for more information about the work of the Tribune Trust: www.tribunetrust.org

On the 25th July, you can have an informal chat with Paul about your ideas to see if it fits with the trusts’ aims.  If you already have a firm plan then the application forms are available on their website above.  It’s a great opportunity to find out about the Trust’s work in person and share your ideas to support it.

Proposals to the trust need to contribute to one of the following themes: protecting vulnerable victims; promoting good citizenship; promoting sport and active recreation; tackling drug and alcohol misuse; or tackling crime and disorder.  Useful examples of the types of project that the trust has recently funded are on their website.
