With less than a month to go until VANEL’s first-ever World Oceans Day event, we are appealing for volunteers!
We need enthusiastic volunteers who share VANEL’s love of the environment, to help us set up and assist during nature walks, beach clean ups and treasure hunts! The event comes as part of VANEL’s ongoing work with Anglian Water’s ‘Keep it Clear’ and Keep Britain Tidy’s ‘BeachCare’ campaigns.
World Oceans Day (WOD) is a global day of ocean celebration and collaboration for a better future. The official WOD is celebrated on the 8th June, however, we will be holding our WOD event on Tuesday 30th May 2017 at Cleethorpes Discovery Centre from 10 am until 4 pm.
In addition to the activities mentioned above, World Oceans Day will feature performances from Anglian Water’s Mad Scientist, the return of Explorabubble and a stand by Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary. The team from Beach Safety will be in attendance, as will EFAMs Event Medical and Water Rescue Services.
