Positive Activities Annual Charity Golf Day Success

As part of their 10th-anniversary celebrations, Positive Activities held their 5th Annual Charity Golf Day at Grimsby Golf Club on Friday 5th May 2017. It was a great day on one of North East Lincolnshire’s finest and most challenging golf courses. The sun shone on all the teams of 4 who participated helping to raise much-needed funding for the local charity.

As well as the golf, there was a raffle and an auction, which included a signed Manchester United football, a caricature illustration of the Arsenal ‘Invincibles’ Premier League football team (signed by Paul Mercer) and a framed signed replica set of 17 times World Champion Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor’s darts.

Over £2000 was raised which will help Positive Activities to continue supporting local people experiencing social isolation, mental health and physical health issues through sporting, media and adventurous activities.

Mark Fenty, Managing Director, said “I am so grateful to the many golfers who entered the event. I am also grateful to the many individuals and businesses who donated raffle prizes, auction items and sponsored us such as Carpet Warehouse Group, The Pie Stall, DFDS, LCS Group, AF Blakemore, Grimsby Golf Club and M&J Accountants.

It is great that everybody has some fun on days like this but we see it as an ideal opportunity for small charities like Positive Activities to promote our services to a wider audience and to raise funds, which enable us to continue working with local families. We really do appreciate the support we get from individuals and businesses.”
