Young people and volunteers from YMCA Humber are inviting YOU to visit their Community Orchard Project at their Peaks Lane site in Grimsby.
The Branching Out Celebration Event will take place on Saturday 18th March from 2 pm until 5 pm and is a free event with lots of activities, as well as a chance to find out more about the charity’s Community Orchard Project.
YMCA Humber are one of a select group of YMCAs from around the country that are taking part in a lottery-backed scheme, in conjunction with Fruitfull Communities.
The event sees the local community invited to the Peaks Lane site to view the Orchard, as well as take part in activities such as tree dressing, woodcraft and tile making. There will also be a fresh food cooking demo, BBQ, live music and stalls promoting local produce.
Showcasing Talent
Anthony is a resident at the Peaks Lane project in Grimsby and he spoke of the difference the Orchard Project has made to his life.
He said: “I joined a committee for the Orchard Project and I was made Chair Person.
“I designed the logo and drew up the plans, something I thoroughly enjoyed doing. Art has always been a passion of mine and the Orchard Project has given me the opportunity to showcase my talent.”
If you are interested in coming to the event and learning more about the project, please RSVP using the contact details below. They ask that attendees bring suitable outdoor footwear and unfortunately they do not allow animals on site.
