The VANEL Annual General Meeting took place last week at Parkway Cinema in Cleethorpes. Thanks again to all of our Members and Friends who joined us for the event at a slightly different type of venue to normal. Hope you enjoyed the popcorn!
We ‘premiered’ a video report prior to the AGM proper. This was an alternative to our more usual retrospective “Annual Report” looking back to the previous financial year. This “Valuing Volunteers” short film looked at the past, present and future of how VANEL has been involved in all things volunteering. This was a completely different and typically experimental approach for us, so we hope those who watched it on the day found it interesting. The AGM itself was the more formal part of the event and the key points were the approval of the trustees report, approval of the annual accounts and the reelection of our current trustees after the acceptance of nominations. The other relevant item was that it was agreed that the fee for VANEL membership would remain unchanged this year at £25 per organisation (little more than £2 per month for a wide range of support).
Thank you again to attendees, to our Trustees, staff and volunteers, and to our Member and Friend organisations. Our next AGM will be in October 2017 but there is a lot going to be going on before then and we look forward to continuing to work with our valued Member and Friend organisations.
