Funding applications for the People’s Health Trust’s annual “HealthWin” project are now being accepted. On Tuesday 23rd August we held a meeting at the VANEL office in which we discussed how the funding application process works and provided examples of previous projects that had received “HealthWin” funding.
On Wednesday 7th September 2016 we will be holding a one-on-one appointment day at the VANEL office for those of you who haven’t submitted your funding application online by this date. Our Community Development Intern Chris Luckman and Contracts Manager Richard Wendel-Jones will be there to discuss your idea and give you the best chance of getting through stage one of the two-stage application process. You can then put the finishing touches to your project proposal and submit your application on the People’s Health Trust website.
You should have already read the detailed “HealthWin” guidance to establish whether or not your organisation and the area in which you want to carry out the project is eligible for funding, but it may be worth having another look. On the ‘Apply for funding webpage you will be shown a map of the UK with North East Lincolnshire lit up in white, click on it to begin your application. On the next page you will see a map of North East Lincolnshire which is broken up into small areas. If you zoom into where your project will affect and click on that area, it will provide you with a code and the option to add it to your application. Click on the code, this will autofill part of your application in regards to where your project is located. Alternatively, you can add this information manually by entering the postcode of your project’s location in the ‘Find Your Location’ search bar. You will then be able to click ‘continue’ at the bottom of the page and continue to the next step. Complete the web form on the page, it is important to note that the application cannot be ‘saved’ as a draft so it may be worth writing out the information you plan to submit on a word document and then copy and paste it on to the web form. You may also want to get someone else to read your application before submitting it to check for errors and clarity. Once you have completed the web form and you are happy with it, you can press ‘submit’. The deadline for “HealthWin” applications is Wednesday 21st September 2016.
You will hear within 5 days of your submission if you have made it through to the second stage of application process. This part of the application is much more detailed and will take longer to process. Applicants who are successful in securing funding in the second stage can expect to wait between 10 and 12 weeks to be notified and/or receive their funding. This means that projects should be aiming to start in January at the earliest.
