Whilst VANEL was in conversation with HMRC staff in Grimsby recently, the discussion worked around to local Christmas appeals and how staff at HMRC could get involved.
And so as a result of that conversation, HMRC staff quickly collected together food to go into three large Hampers which local charity and VANEL member organisation CARE were able to collect as part of their Christmas Hamper appeal just in time to add to their distribution of food to local people in need.
Sarah Tomlinson at CARE passed on their thanks to HRMC staff for their donations saying that they were glad that HMRC had found out about the scheme and that their donations will help to make a difference to the families that CARE are working with.
