Please can you help us build a picture of what matters most to you in your county so that we can ensure we are asking all the right people to help improve our communities and work to make sure that investment is focussed in the right areas. We are using a tool called Vital Signs. Vital Signs is a community philanthropy tool bringing together existing research and community foundations local knowledge into two reports that provide a qualitative and quantitative health check, benchmark and needs analysis around ten (or more) social themes facing communities today. As a small Community Foundation we decided to frame our research around the following themes:
Rurality, Transport & Access to Services
Healthy Living and Well-being
Work, Education & Learning
Environment
Arts, Culture & Heritage
(and a final theme Fairness & Social Justice, scored via central and local deprivation indices only)
In line with the vital signs guidance, the majority of the following questions are answered using the following scale:
A Everything is great! Let’s keep things that way!
B Things are going well, but we can make them better.
C The situation is OKAY, but could be improved.
D Things aren’t going very well. We should take action as soon as possible.
E Things are going very badly. We must act now!
We have included a final free text question in each of the five themes considered where you can give us your views on the most important areas of need in our county, in your experience, and the reasons why.
