VANEL

Sad to see her go…

This week Vicky Campbell leaves VANEL after having worked here for nearly nine years.  It’s a sad moment for the team and trustees to say goodbye to her, but we’re very pleased that she leaving to take up a full time teaching assistant post which has been her dream for a while now.

Vicky joined us in 2008 from an agency on a temporary basis and has since shifted roles numerous times and become ‘part of the furniture’ here.  She started  by running all the administration on our Yorkshire Forward funded Third Sector Hub project, provided secretariat duties for numerous forums and networks and then when VANEL started the Local Involvement Network (LINk) she moved into that team.  She’s helped lead Winter Planning projects for us over several years and moved into the Family Group Conferencing team at VANEL when that was in full swing. She’s helped us with our back office support work, front facing customer and member work, helped compile our Annual Reports, provide editorial work for our website and e-newsletters, looked after the Common Treasury scheme for a while, and helped run and attend a huge number of events. Vicky supported the team to be the first voluntary sector organisation to achieve the Healthy Workplace GOLD Award (after securing Bronze and Silver levels) has recently become a Community Health Champion, and has generally supported and contributed to many of the scores of projects and initiatives that VANEL has managed over the many years she has been with us.

Over the years, as Vicky’s own children have grown, her interest and passion has moved into teaching support, and this past year Vicky has only been working for VANEL part time whilst she spent the other half of her week working in a school in a part time teaching support role.  And as from September, Vicky has managed to get a full-time teaching assistant role at St Mary’s Primary Academy to pursue her passion.  The whole VANEL family wishes her well in that new career.

If you’ve been in contact with Vicky over the years (and I’m sure most of you will have been), then you’ll no doubt join us in wishing her well. (And you’ll need to remember to contact other people at VANEL now for your queries!).

Vicky has applied herself fully to everything she’s done over her years with VANEL and, although the phrase can be overused it’s very true here, she’s been a huge asset to our team.  Thank you Vicky for all your hard work and being part of our team for so long and we wish you all the best for the future.
