A month ago supermarkets began charging for plastic carrier bags, with all monies received from this charge to go to charity.
Tesco’s have joined forces with Groundwork UK in order to use the money raised to improve green spaces across the UK. The first round of funding opened on 19th October and closes on 27th November at noon. Grants of upto £12,000 are available and there will be two rounds of funding per year over the next three years.
