The community hub at 82 Grimsby Road<\/a> continues to thrive.<\/strong> As well as being VANEL\u2019s offices and meeting spaces, we host a number of resident social groups throughout the week and the space is always ready to welcome in more of our community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019ve never visited, please drop in. The hub is normally open Mon-Thu 9am-3pm. <\/strong>But because our staff team are flexible on a variety of projects, please make sure you check that someone will be there before you make a special trip. (01472 231123).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hub is a main large room (and a few rooms available to rent), but also has a green \u2018yard space\u2019 and, critically, our \u2018Red Shed<\/a>\u2019 – the hands-on activity space known as \u201cBrocklebank Hall\u201d. Many of our groups<\/a> meet in the Shed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mondays are our Ancestry research group<\/strong>.
Tuesdays the ladies meet as a crafts and arts social group<\/strong>.
Wednesdays and Thursdays you\u2019ll find the gents with their arts, model making and \u2018gaming\u2019 group<\/strong> often in the shed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once a month there\u2019s a quiz and games event <\/strong>which the members of our various groups get involved with. Always a lot of fun and variety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But as well as these regular groups we also host:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A monthly Camerados Public Living Room<\/strong>. Simply pop in for a chat and a cuppa – there\u2019s no other reason to be there other than to socialise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We try and hold a monthly Community Safety drop in<\/strong> too – usually alongside a member of the local Neighbourhood Policing Team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the winter we\u2019ve officially been a \u2018warmspace<\/strong>\u2019 so that anyone can pop in whilst we\u2019re open for a drink and a chat and to stay warm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But of course we\u2019re more than happy to be welcoming anyone in at anytime too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each month we try and organise an event. We\u2019ve been doing this since December 2023<\/a> when re hosted our first \u2018Jingle Mingle\u2019 and we\u2019ve continued largely every month since!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In May we\u2019ve got a \u2018hedgehog welfare\u2019 themed event for young children (and families), but if you\u2019re around on 25th June why not pop in for our social event as part of the Jo Cox get together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

June 2025 is \u2018Month of Community\u2019 so we\u2019ll be busy in the hub being part of our own community around North Cleethorpes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

VANEL works closely with communities and groups across North East Lincolnshire so running our own community building keeps us directly connected to the efforts everyone else is doing as they try to support their communities.
