They will be very public in their approach and findings and will have the ear of government, the Charity Commission and others, so rather than await their findings, we all have the opportunity to tell our own stories and make our own contributions.<\/p>\n<p>Julia Unwin has explained their purpose and approach <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/voluntary-sector-network\/2017\/sep\/01\/civil-society-futures-independent-inquiry-call-for-contributions\" target=\"_blank\">in this Guardian article<\/a> and you can read <a href=\"https:\/\/civilsocietyfutures.org\/resources\/\" target=\"_blank\">their initial report here<\/a>, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/civilsocietyfutures.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">their website here<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/civilsocietyfutures.org\/call-for-contributions\/\" target=\"_blank\">take part in the consultation here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Essentially they are asking 4 key (and significant) questions:<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Q1. What purpose does civil society fulfil now? What purpose will civil society need to fulfil in the future? What do you think they should\/should not be doing?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Q2. What is driving or inhibiting change in civil society? How will different forms of civil society respond to social, political, economic, environmental and technological change over the future?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Q3. What new forms of civil society do you see emerging now and why? Given the right circumstances, what might their impact be in the future?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Q4. How and in what ways can civil society enable human flourishing now and in the future?
