Voluntary Action’s IGNITE team played their part by organising a Big Board Game Day<\/a> event on Saturday 1st April in Peoples Park to raise money for the NSPCC. Also in attendance was Diana Award Holder and Founder of Counting Hope<\/a>, Andy Green.<\/p>\n

Together, Helen, Lisa and Andy had on display an exciting array of\u00a0 family-friendly games and activities which members of the public could play in exchange for a small donation to the charity. As promised, there was something for everyone with people lending us games such as Chess, Monopoly, Scrabble, Cluedo, Connect 4 and Buckaroo to name just a few. Keith Watkin of VANEL Member organisation Freshney Forward was kind enough to lend IGNITE a number of outdoor games and activities which went down a treat, so thank you Keith.<\/p>\n

Anticipating that with the park being so vast, people passing though might not know Big Board Game Day was taking place, the team brought along equipment from the 02 Think Big funded ‘Explorabubble’. The big bouncy bubbles did the trick, bringing in people from all corners of the park to the epicentre of where Big Board Game Day was being held.\u00a0 All in all the day was a success, raising a modest but valuable amount for the NSPCC. You can still contribute to our Big Board Game Day event by visiting Tukes Cafe in Peoples Park where we have left two name cards for people to fill in for 50 pence a go. Up for grabs is a \u00a315 voucher to spend at The Jug and Bottle in Holton-Le-Clay and two tickets to see a film of your choosing at Parkway Cinema in Cleethorpes.<\/p>\n
