Firstly an introduction\u2026.. I am the new Volunteer Coordinator for North East Lincolnshire Council and I come bearing a fantastic opportunity for you, a chance to be part of this year\u2019s National Armed Forces Event on the 24th<\/sup>, 25th<\/sup> & 26th<\/sup> of June. (Below is the link to the official Armed Forces Day website, please have a look to familiarise yourself further)<\/p>\n http:\/\/www.armedforcescleethorpes.co.uk\/<\/a><\/p>\n National Armed Forces Day will be a day when the eyes of the nation are firmly fixed on us, to see how we celebrate the role of the armed forces but also to showcase what the borough has to offer. However the event itself will actually run across the whole weekend, so with this in mind \u2018Job 1\u2019 for me is to put together a dedicated group for the event\u2026.namely \u2018Team AFD\u2019<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n Over the course of the weekends celebrations we will require an army of enthusiastic AFDer\u2019s<\/em><\/strong> to help facilitate this huge event to ensure its smooth, safe and successful operation and deliver something we can be immensely proud of as a community. It has to be said that \u2018community\u2019 is an important factor in the event, as \u2018Team AFD\u2019<\/em><\/strong> will be a true mix of diverse people from across the borough, who are willing and dedicated to give their time and experience to ensure its success.<\/p>\n I know we all work hard within, and contribute to, NE Lincs every day, but with a national event we have a fantastic opportunity to not only give that little bit more, but to have a fun, rewarding and memorable experience whilst doing it. There will be a host of diverse roles but every one of them will play an important part of the weekend and every \u2018Team AFD<\/em><\/strong>\u2019 members efforts will be both invaluable and greatly appreciated.<\/p>\n So, do you think you can contribute to this truly fantastic event? Can you be play an important part in the success of a National event happening right on our doorstep?<\/p>\n Yes\u2026.? Great. Well attached you will find a \u2018FAQs\u2019 sheet relating to the event and below the link to our Team AFD<\/em><\/strong> registration process (It shouldn\u2019t really take you any more than 10 mins).<\/p>\n Just to remind you that the event will run across the weekend of June the 24th<\/sup>, 25th<\/sup> and 26th<\/sup>, therefore within the registration process there will be options for you to choose time slots you can lend your support Team AFD<\/em><\/strong>. It\u2019s worth reminding also that, although help across the whole event will be required and hugely appreciated, the afternoon of Saturday 25th<\/sup> will require the most attention and largest numbers within \u2018Team AFD\u2019<\/em><\/strong>, this is due to this being the \u2018official\u2019 day and being the day of the main parade. (Friday<\/strong>: Trading, displays and exhibitions open. Music from local military bands. Fireworks, Saturday<\/strong>: Trading, displays and exhibitions, a major military parade which will see hundreds of personnel from the forces join cadets and veterans, a full flying display, ending with music and fireworks & Sunday<\/strong>: Family fun day \u2013 Trading, displays and exhibitions, and with the addition of music and entertainment in the resort)<\/p>\n Once you have registered we will gather all your information, which will allow us to allocate roles.
