Dementia Awareness NEL are recruiting volunteers to help to promote awareness of the disease.
Dementia Awareness NEL offers guidance and support to people living with dementia, as well as their family and friends. The organisation aims to change the negative attitudes that people may have about dementia by challenging misconceptions and raising awareness of the condition. Rather than focussing on what a person with dementia may be unable to do, Dementia Awareness focusses on what that person can do, and the contributions that they can make to society. Whats more, the organisation encourages people living with dementia to live active and happy lives, and to remain independent for as long as is reasonably possible. The Dementia Awareness team are based at Centre4 on Wooton Road in Grimsby.
