Women’s Aid is fundraising

North East Lincolnshire Women’s Aid will have been supporting victims/survivors of domestic abuse in Grimsby for 40 years next year and the Women’s Refuge continues to serve hundreds of women and children with vital support in time of critical need.

Denise Farman, Senior Manager at the refuge, has recently been repeating the message that the centre needs to continually fundraise and come up with innovative, sustainable funding approaches in order to keep the service running in the way it does.

Funding cuts year on year are always going to be a challenge, so Women’s Aid needs all the support it can get in order to remain sustainable for the years ahead.

Women’s Aid has a number of charity shops on Grimsby Road, Cleethorpes where items can be bought and donated – and volunteers are always required.

The charity also receives money for recycling biscuit wrappers, empty cleaning and baby wipe packets, deodorant cans, coffee jar lids and coffee packaging, mobile phones, broken jewellery and more.

If you don’t know about the work of the refuge or would like to support in any way you can, visit their website (www.womensaidnel.org) to find out more or you can join their mailing list to receive regular information by emailing denise@womensaidnel.org.
