At the end of March, Phil from the VANEL Enfuse team will be moving on to a new job locally. We wish him every success. Here he shares a bit of his story…
From a rocky start to his career, Phil has blossomed in his time with VANEL. He has overcome personal challenges to thrive in the workplace.
His role with us began with a recycling focus in which he ran events and sourced funding, leading to a role on the Humber Talent Match funding panel and then as a Youth Ambassador for Springboard.
Before he came to us Phil was volunteering with his Methodist Church, and during his time with us Phil has continued to volunteer with them. He has also become a volunteer for the Street Angels, making sure that he can continue to follow his personal passions.
Of his time with us Phil wanted to say “When I first started VANEL back in September 2013 I wasn’t entirely sure what was expected of me. I have made a lot of realisations from working here and learned a lot as well. The people I have worked with over the last 2 and half years have been fantastic and really supportive which I’ll always be grateful for. I have learned a lot of things from working with these people as well. I’ll always be grateful for the chance to work here because I’ve been given the chance to experience a lot of new things and more importantly develop myself as a person. Working at VANEL has been the longest employed position I’ve had so far and I count it as the first step on the ladder of my professional career. I’m really excited to be working as a Graphic Designer at Flextech Ltd in April as it always what I’ve wanted to do. I don’t think I’d ever got the job if it wasn’t working at VANEL first. The design work that I’ve created during my time here was all printed and beautifully presented in my portfolio at my recent interview and landed me a job that I wasn’t initially applying for. “
