Buck Beck runs alongside the Country Park and Golf Club, leading out to the Humber Estuary near Humberston Nature Reserve.<\/p>\n

Formally, the Beck is part of the local drainage system (see here<\/a>). It starts around Bradley Road and joins the estuary at the outfall behind Pleasure Island.\u00a0 Responsibility for the Beck is covered by North East Lincolnshire Council, North East Lindsey Drainage Board and the Environment Agency.\u00a0 The Beck is included in the Flood Management Plan for the area<\/a> and it is pleasing to note that it lists no properties at common risk from flooding along the course of the Beck.<\/p>\n

Whilst the Beck may be functional – part of drainage and flood management plans, it also forms a very natural and open long green space crossing across Cleethorpes from inland residential areas out through the Country Park and into the Estuary.<\/p>\n

A more recent addition to the Beck is the now iconic ‘Buck Beck Beach Bench’ which stands on the sands behind the Cleethorpes Boating Lake and started to appear in 2016.\u00a0 It has its own Facebook page for fans here<\/a>.
