{"id":248,"date":"2021-02-02T11:53:22","date_gmt":"2021-02-02T11:53:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/greencleethorpes\/green-cleethorpes\/pocketpark-2\/"},"modified":"2021-03-11T12:40:26","modified_gmt":"2021-03-11T12:40:26","slug":"cemetery","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/greencleethorpes\/green-cleethorpes\/cemetery\/","title":{"rendered":"Cleethorpes Cemetery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sitting in at 31 acres, just off Beacon Avenue, Cleethorpes Cemetery opened in 1877 and is one of four cemeteries serving the Grimsby and Cleethorpes area.<\/p>\n<p>It contains 77 First World War Burials and 80 Second World War burials in the cemetery grounds.<\/p>\n<p>A War Cross is erected on an island site in the main drive.<\/p>\n<p>The cemetery is bisected by a foot and cycle path, with more recent burials on a raised part of the cemetery and the majority of older, 19<sup>th<\/sup>century burials in the lower part, which contains a mortuary chapel.
