{"id":4763,"date":"2015-03-10T09:44:54","date_gmt":"2015-03-10T09:44:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/va\/?p=4763"},"modified":"2015-03-10T09:44:54","modified_gmt":"2015-03-10T09:44:54","slug":"national-community-clear-up-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/va\/2015\/03\/national-community-clear-up-day\/","title":{"rendered":"National Community Clear Up Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We would like to draw your attention to the recent announcement about the Government\u2019s first ever Community Clear Up Day!!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This is a \u2018national spring clean\u2019 to be held on <strong>Saturday 21 March 2015<\/strong>, the first day of spring, with the aim of sprucing up the \u00a0high streets, residential and business areas, villages and parks.<\/p>\n<p>Whether you\u2019re a group of friends and neighbours, a litter clean-up group, community organisation or society, a local business, a school or on your own, everyone is urged to roll up their sleeves and get behind the\u00a0 nationwide spring clean in order to spruce up our favourite public places.<\/p>\n<p>There are already many community and corporate groups around the country involved in regular litter picking activities. This national initiative, being delivered by the Department for Communities and Local Government in partnership with Keep Britain Tidy, wants to give these groups the recognition they deserve and encourage other groups \u2013 great and small \u2013 to help end the scourge of litter. It is also urging the manufacturers of items commonly associated with littering to join in and contribute to the clear up of our streets and public places. Always wear sturdy clothing and footwear as well as protective gloves.<\/p>\n<p>A handy tool kit and information pack, which includes customisable posters, leaflets and banners, is available. This material can be downloaded for free at . You can add your own event details, print them or display online and place them locally.
