{"id":22050,"date":"2020-06-15T15:41:46","date_gmt":"2020-06-15T14:41:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/va\/?p=22050"},"modified":"2020-06-16T09:44:33","modified_gmt":"2020-06-16T08:44:33","slug":"free-psychological-first-aid-online-training-course-now-available-to-all-who-might-need-it","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/va\/2020\/06\/free-psychological-first-aid-online-training-course-now-available-to-all-who-might-need-it\/","title":{"rendered":"Free Psychological First Aid online training course now available to all who might need it"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Public Health England has today launched an updated\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.futurelearn.com\/courses\/psychological-first-aid-covid-19\/1\">Psychological First Aid (PFA) digital training module<\/a>, aimed at all frontline and essential workers and volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>The course aims to increase awareness and confidence to provide psychosocial support to people affected by COVID-19.\u00a0 PFA is globally recognised training in emergency situations and PHE has developed this new course as part of its national incident response, and in partnership with NHS England, Health Education England, FutureLearn and E-Learning for Health.<\/p>\n<p>The course is free, and no previous qualifications are required. It takes around 90 minutes to complete and is also available in three sessions for the learner to complete at their own pace.<\/p>\n<p>By the end of the course, outcomes will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>understanding how emergencies like the COVID-19 pandemic can affect us,<\/li>\n<li>recognising people who may be at increased risk of distress, and<\/li>\n<li>understanding how to offer practical and emotional support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.futurelearn.com\/courses\/psychological-first-aid-covid-19\/1\">You can get to the online training here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-22050\" data-postid=\"22050\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-22050 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Public Health England has today launched an updated Psychological First Aid (PFA) digital training module, aimed at all frontline and essential workers and volunteers.
