{"id":21985,"date":"2020-05-22T09:17:53","date_gmt":"2020-05-22T08:17:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/va\/?p=21985"},"modified":"2020-05-22T10:22:46","modified_gmt":"2020-05-22T09:22:46","slug":"coronavirus-community-support-fund-200m-is-now-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/va\/2020\/05\/coronavirus-community-support-fund-200m-is-now-open\/","title":{"rendered":"Coronavirus Community Support Fund, \u00a3200m is now open"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The government has pledged \u00a3750 million to ensure VCSE can continue their vital work supporting the country during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, including \u00a3200m for the Coronavirus Community Support Fund, along with an additional \u00a3150 million from dormant bank and building society accounts.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Government\u2019s new Coronavirus Community Support Fund will open for applications at 10am on Friday 22<sup>nd<\/sup> May.<\/p>\n<p>This new funding stream makes available \u00a3200m in Government funding that will be aimed primarily at small to medium organisations in England.<\/p>\n<p>The Fund has two key objectives:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>To increase community support to vulnerable people<\/strong> affected by the COVID-19 crisis, through the work of civil society organisations.<\/li>\n<li><strong>To reduce temporary closures of essential charities and social enterprises,<\/strong> ensuring services for vulnerable people impacted by COVID-19 have the financial resources to operate, and so reduce the burden on public services.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Grants will allow organisations to meet service costs, where they are experiencing increased demand and\/or short-term income disruption.
