On Saturday 1st of June, IGNITE held their second beach sports day event with both old and new contacts. A big thank you goes out to Grimsby Rugby Club, NEL Badminton Group, Walkers Total Fitness, and Moon on the Water for providing their services on the day, as well as Jenny Hodson who put together the Hockey area on short notice, and on her birthday of all days. Another big thank you to Big Local North Cleethorpes who provided some sponsorship for the event too.<\/p>\n

This event was put on to celebrate IGNITE\u2019s achievements over the last 3 years and enjoy a day in the sun promoting physical health, mental wellbeing, and the recent blue flag award gained for the beach. This event also marked the beginning of Volunteers\u2019 Week 2019, and the series of events that IGNITE are putting on throughout June.<\/p>\n

The event gained plenty of interest throughout the day, and we saw various groups of participants joining in with all of the free activities that were available. It was great to be approached by each of the clubs\/organisations throughout the day asking when the next event is going to be, so we have started looking at how to make the new network of sports clubs in Cleethorpes and beyond for future events.<\/p>\n

Thanks too to the volunteers who helped on the day. We\u2019re glad everyone enjoyed themselves too.<\/p>\n
