We\u2019ve just finished with Shrove Tuesday 2019<\/span> but, to us at CASE, it marks one year until our Pancake Day race in 2020, which we are launching today.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our race will be held on Tuesday 25 February 2020<\/span> on the Humber Bridge, and promises to be a flipping great time for all involved! Teams will be gathered from local businesses, school groups and supporters from our community who will take part in the relay race on the bridge, and will raise money for two local charities. This event will raise funds to support the important work of CASE from the Northbank of the Humber and IGNITE part of VANEL from the Southbank.<\/p>\n

Race rules will include tossing the pancake at least 3 times over the course of the race, no battering spectators of other competitors with leftover pancakes and, of course, no dropping your pancakes (or pans) in the river Humber!<\/p>\n

Our Marketing Manager Steve Rusling is looking forward to the event, and says \u201cI have been privileged to have organised pancake races in Cleethorpes in the past, and can\u2019t wait to get started on the Humber Bridge 2020 Pancake Race!\u201d<\/p>\n

Jenny Hodson, Youth Leadership Manager from IGNITE, says \u201cI\u2019ve taken part in numerous pancake races in Cleethorpes and I\u2019m excited to help organise the 2020 Humber Bridge Pancake Race.\u201d<\/p>\n

CASE Training<\/strong> is a local charity dedicated to the support of people with a learning disability in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire. Established thirty years ago in 1985 by parents of learning disabled young people, CASE has grown to become a comparatively large and leading charity. CASE provides a range of Educational, Training, Day Care and Recreational activities for its service users as well as support and help for their families and carers.<\/p>\n

\u201cIGNITE\u201d: \u201cHelping Young People To Lead Their Communities<\/strong>\u201d is a \u2018Reaching Communities\u2019 programme run by VANEL (Voluntary Action in North East Lincolnshire). The three-year programme, which is funded by the National Lottery\u2019s Big Lottery Fund, aims to inspire, support and motivate young people aged 16 to 30, to become leaders within their community through volunteering.<\/p>\n

So far the IGNITE team have supported a number of young people with a variety of projects, including helping organise a vintage theme coffee morning to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and a five-a-side tournament to raise money for The Teenage Cancer Trust. They are also currently supporting 16-year-old Uniformed Services student and IGNITE Project Leader with her talent competition \u2018Battle of the Bands\u2018, as well as a young duo who are in the process of starting up their own Graffiti club for young people.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
