And online fraud such as phishing will continue to be a huge risk for charities in 2019. Fortunately the National Cyber Security Centre is stepping up its game supporting the voluntary sector.<\/p>\n I started talking about Cyber security in my blog article last week<\/a>, and this week I’d like to point you to an article by Kate Sinnott<\/a>, head of charity engagement at NCSC who talks about four trends for 2019. Time for civic society to shape our future”<\/a>. Very topical and worth a read.<\/p>\n Between now and July 2019, the UK government is carrying out a review of the UK\u2019s progress towards the United Nation Sustainable Development Goals.<\/strong>\u00a0 In July, the UK will present its Voluntary National Review at the UN\u2019s High Level Political Forum.\u00a0 To inform the review, the government wants to hear from a wide range of stakeholders either through the Voluntary National Review website or directly at a variety of events planned to take place across the country. The Government encourages any group, organisation, or individual contributing to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in the UK to share what they are doing<\/a>.<\/p>\n A quick reminder that VANEL is running one of our \u201cInduction and Refresher Training for Trustees\u201d<\/strong> workshops on Friday 18th January.
