Battling the Negative Stereotyping of young people"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The theme of this months\u2019 organised dialogue is a challenge for us all. <strong>We will look at the impact of negative stereotyping<\/strong> \u2013 its \u2018costs\u2019 to our young people and their\/our communities \u2013 and also how we can actively challenge it ourselves and how we can enable\/encourage young people to actively challenge it themselves?<\/p>\n<p>Stereotyping has existed since the dawn of time \u2013 most often those people who \u2018receive\u2019 the effects of being stereotyped and those who engage in the doing of it \u2013 never discuss its impact with each other. However, these conversations have started to evolve.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve included some thoughts by young people themselves about the impact of stereotyping.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve also included a workbook from Northern Ireland on how they are challenging negative stereotyping.<\/p>\n<p>Please do RSVP me if you would like to attend<\/p>\n<p>Parking and Refreshments are free<\/p>\n<p>The venue is the West Marsh Community Centre. Date 15<sup>th<\/sup> March.
