HYA<\/span><\/h2>\n

We announced last week that the funding scheme from Humberside Youth Association (HYA)<\/strong> has been extended into another round (round 5 of 4!). The closing date for that round has now been confirmed as 31st May 2018<\/strong>.<\/span> All the information about HYA can still be found on the page here<\/span><\/a> where you can find the application forms, eligibility criteria and so on. If you\u2019re in the right age range or are an organisation supporting younger people then don\u2019t miss this extra chance to apply for funding.<\/span><\/p>\n

Closing dates soon<\/span><\/h2>\n

And a reminder that the Crime Reduction Fund (CRF)<\/span><\/a> closing date is 8th March.<\/span> Which is soon. So get your applications in. (Send them to Richard at VANEL<\/span><\/a> first for a quick sanity check before submitting. It will help improve your chances of success)<\/span><\/p>\n

The Coastal Events Fund<\/strong> pot from CoastNEL has a closing date of 28th February.<\/span> So if you\u2019ve got an idea to run an event covering Cleethorpes then you\u2019ll have to move quickly to get your application in. All the details are here<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sports England<\/span><\/h2>\n

If you\u2019re interested in speaking to a grant manager from Sports England<\/strong> about possible funding applications then there is an opportunity on 15th March.<\/span> The Grant Manager will be visiting Grimsby and appointments are available if you would like to discuss their various funding pots. For further details about the venue, timings of appointments, how to book and about the funds themselves please contact Amy at NBF (Amy@nbforum.org.uk<\/a><\/span>).<\/p>\n

Where to look for funding<\/span><\/h2>\n

North Bank Forum have redeveloped their website and there\u2019s a very useful curated list of relevant upcoming funding pots available on their site here<\/span><\/a>. Take a look to see what you might be eligible for.<\/span><\/p>\n

Support from VANEL about Funding<\/span><\/h2>\n

If you\u2019re a Member of VANEL then don\u2019t forget you can talk with us about your funding and fundraising queries. We can act as a \u2018critical friend\u2019 and look over your funding applications and give some (hopefully) useful advice. (A quick look is free, but if you need some hours of support from us then we\u2019ll need to charge you an hourly rate.)<\/span><\/p>\n

We can also use our funding database – GrantsOnline<\/strong><\/span><\/a> – to do specific funding searches for you to help you to identify the best grants to go for. Karl<\/span><\/a> or Richard<\/span><\/a> can help do searches, so just get in touch.<\/span><\/p>\n

We can also run bespoke training for those responsible for funding applications in your organisation. If you\u2019re less familiar with how to put the best funding application together and want some structure, guidance and advice, then we can deliver \u201cFunding Fundamentals\u201d<\/strong> – a 2 hour bespoke session. Prices do apply, but time and venue can be of your choosing. Just speak to Karl<\/span><\/a> or Richard<\/span><\/a> to discuss. <\/span><\/p>\n

And you\u2019ve probably noticed that most (or many) funding applications are now online or electronic. So you\u2019ll need to be online, setup on email, able to scan or upload documents (such as bank statements or accounts) and be used to completing editable .pdfs (which is a real challenge in itself). There are so many potential pitfalls with the technology when applying online that you really need to make sure it doesn\u2019t get in the way of getting your funding application written well and submitted on time.<\/span><\/p>\n

So we can provide our \u201cEffective Online Funding Applications\u201d training<\/strong> course on a bespoke basis. Again it\u2019s a two hour session and again fees will apply. Fundraising – getting it right and following the Code<\/span><\/h2>\n

A reminder to everyone involved in fundraising (no matter how small an amount) – you are obliged to follow the Fundraising Code of Practice<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s being re-released to make sure it aligns with the upcoming GDPR legislation – so now\u2019s a really good time to make sure you are familiar with it. Take the time now to ensure your entire board, your managers, fundraisers and volunteers are all up to speed with the Code.<\/span><\/p>\n
