We are slowly increasing the number of volunteers participating in community activities; we are developing and delivering tailor-made training and briefing sessions; we have increased our connections with the resilience forums that cover our local area; we are exploring expanding our work across the Humber sub region; and we have made new national contacts and secured new investment in the programme.<\/p>\n<p>Steve Lynn is running the programme for VANEL and this initial stage has been supported through Big Lottery funding.\u00a0 The volunteers on the programme bring the skills and experience they had when they worked in the emergency services with them into their new volunteering roles and over a dozen of them are now volunteering out in the community organised through the programme.<\/p>\n<p>If you know anyone who has retired from Police, Fire or Ambulance Services then please contact Steve and refer them into the programme.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/va\/projects\/blue-lights-brigade\/\">All the contact details are here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-18022\" data-postid=\"18022\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-18022 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Blue Lights Brigade programme is progressing well.
