This February half term, (12th \u2013 16th), brings about a series of free* workshops designed by the IGNITE team. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Communications<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Monday 12th morning, we have the first of two communication workshops of the week which will introduce individuals to the varying types of communication, where and when they can be used and an additional brief look into the legality of using communication.<\/p>\n

Digital Inspirations<\/strong><\/p>\n

Monday 12th afternoon brings around a digital inspiration workshop that aims to inspire individuals to go into Computer Science, Web Development and Coding. The workshop will cover topics such as; what is Coding and why do we need it? And how Computer Science affects our everyday lives from medicines and health through to fashion and sport.<\/p>\n

This workshop is delivered in partnership with UK Youth and technology giant Microsoft as part of the Generation Code programme.<\/p>\n

What do young people want to see in their communities?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tuesday morning will see the IGNITE team take to the streets to consult with young people aged 16-30 about what they would like to see in their communities. In addition to this, the IGNITE team will be signposting people to volunteering opportunities and organisations so stay tuned to the IGNITE Facebook and Twitter (@IGNITEgy<\/a>), to find out where they will be and when.<\/p>\n

Preparing meals on a budget<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tuesday afternoon will be kicking off with a workshop on how to make and prepare meals on a budget. Whilst the workshop will be designed with students in mind, it will still be relevant to individuals of all ages! \u00a0\u00a0Book through jenny@vanel.org.uk<\/a>

Running an event<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wednesday afternoon see\u2019s IGNITE team manager deliver a workshop on Event Organisation. Within this workshop, you will be shown how to successfully plan, manage and deliver an event. From advice on funding to networking through to the legalities and licences you may need, this course is a must for anyone planning an event!<\/p>\n

Money Matters<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our penultimate Workshop, Money Matters, is an all-day course which will see individuals work through four modules. Modules include; \u201cYou and Your Money\u201d, \u201cSurviving till Payday\u201d, \u201cIndependence Day\u201d and \u201cYour Money Talks\u201d.<\/p>\n

During the day, you will look closely at payslips, tax codes, bank statements and budgeting. This is a must for individuals moving out of the family home for the first time whether to enter student accommodation or to venture out on your own or with your partner.
\nThis course is delivered in partnership with UK Youth.<\/p>\n

\nage 16 to 24 years

More Communications<\/strong><\/p>\n

Friday16th sees the end of our workshop extravaganza with the second, more advanced, communication workshop. In this session, individuals will receive a better understanding of interpretation and the importance of conversing with individuals through a number of learning styles. The workshop will also take a more in-depth look into the laws surrounding copyright and plagiarism as well as methods for getting the most out of limited word\/character counts.<\/p>\n

*All our courses are free for individuals aged 16 \u2013 30 years of age, (with the exception of the Digital workshop which is free from 11 through to 30).<\/em>
\nIf you fall outside of these parameters, but would still like to attend one of the courses, please email the appropriate person for the course. Providing the course is not full, you will be added on for free.<\/em><\/p>\n\n
