This is the third year in a row that the RBS Group has committed \u00a32.5 million which will be split between the two funding rounds.<\/p>\n<p>Applications are currently being accepted for round two: <a href=\"http:\/\/skillsandopportunitiesfund.rbs.com\/\">http:\/\/skillsandopportunitiesfund.rbs.com\/<\/a><\/p>\n<h4>The Aviva Community Fund <span class=\"__postbox-detected-content __postbox-detected-date\">opens on 12 September 2017<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The Aviva Community Fund offers you the chance to get funding from \u00a31,000 up to \u00a325,000 for an important cause in your community.<\/p>\n<p>All you have to do is enter a project for your community organisation \u2013 even if you took part previously \u2013 and tell Aviva what a difference these much-needed funds could make.<\/p>\n<p>For full information please <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aviva.co.uk\/good-thinking\/community-fund\/?source=ACFNEWS4&amp;entry=143602&amp;cmp=sml-acf--button-180817--acfnews4-143602-findout\" target=\"_blank\">visit the fund website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"body\" dir=\"auto\">Comic Relief is Investing \u00a32 Million in Small Community Organisations (UK)<\/h4>\n<p class=\"body\" dir=\"auto\">Comic Relief has announced a new \u00a32 million programme to support small community led organisations across the UK. The Core Strength Local Communities Grants programme provides funding of between \u00a31,000 and \u00a310,000 for up to 12 months to small local community organisations for essential core running costs. Only small groups with an annual income of up to \u00a3100,000 will eligible to apply. The initiative will sit under the Comic Relief programme of Building Stronger Communities &#8211; supporting groups who work to make their communities more connected, empowered and productive. The programme will be managed by UK Community Foundations on behalf of Comic Relief. Application windows will open at different times across the UK, between August 2017 until July 2018. Please contact your local Community Foundation to find out more information.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comicrelief.com\/news\/ps2-million-initiative-investing-small-community-organisations-across-uk\" target=\"_blank\">General information here.<\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Lloyds Bank Foundation Invest Prorgamme<\/h4>\n<p>The Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales Invest Programme is now open. Grants are available for between \u00a310,000 and \u00a325,000 per year for two or three years. The Invest Programme\u2019s funding will support longer term core or direct delivery funding for charities which are delivering clear outcomes as a result of their work with people aged 17 years and older who are experiencing multiple disadvantage. <strong>The deadline for initial applications is <\/strong><span class=\"__postbox-detected-content __postbox-detected-date\"><strong>22nd September<\/strong>.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lloydsbankfoundation.org.uk\/our-programmes\/invest\/\" target=\"_blank\">All the information is here<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Government Announces Further \u00a340 Million to Regenerate Coastal Communities (UK)<\/h4>\n<p>The Department for Communities and Local Government has announced that it will provide a further \u00a340 million in grants to help regenerate the UK&#8217;s coastal communities. The fifth round of the Coastal Communities Fund (CCF) will re-open for applications in early 2018 and all projects funded through the CCF are expected to deliver an outcome where coastal communities will experience regeneration and economic growth through projects that directly or indirectly create sustainable jobs, and safeguard existing jobs. The funding will cover the years 2019 &#8211; 2021. The government has already provided \u00a3170 million for 278 projects around the country since the Coastal Communities Fund was launched in 2012.<\/p>\n<h4>Development Funding of up to \u00a330,000 for Charities and Social Enterprises (UK)<\/h4>\n<p>The Fore Trust has announced that its next round of funding will re-open for applications on the <span class=\"__postbox-detected-content __postbox-detected-date\">11th December 2017.<\/span> The Fore Trust is the only open-access funder in the UK offering development funding and strategic support to early-stage charities and social enterprises. The Fore will fund any UK registered charity, social enterprise or community interest company that is small (annual income less than \u00a31m) and charitable. To apply for grants of up to \u00a330,000, organisations must register at the start of each funding round. As numbers for each round are capped and applicants are selected on a on a first-come, first-serve basis, early registration is recommended. On successful registration, applicants are sent further details of the application process. The closing date for applications will be the <span class=\"__postbox-detected-content __postbox-detected-date\">8th January 2018. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/40-million-to-create-jobs-and-boost-visitors-to-the-great-british-coast\" target=\"_blank\">All the details of this latest announcement here.<\/a><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Funding to Develop Innovative Solutions to Reducing Litter<\/h4>\n<p>The Government has launched a new \u00a3450,000 Litter Innovation Fund to reduce litter by funding innovative solutions. Funded by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) and managed by Wrap, grants of up to \u00a310,000 are available to pilot, implement and evaluate small scale local research projects that could be replicated more widely. Standard litter picking activities are not in scope under this fund. Funded projects will fall into one of three themes: Education; Enforcement Strategies; or Infrastructure. This could include, for example, investigating incentives such as the use of rewards, working together to promote collaborative approaches or technology such as apps or product design. Of the \u00a3450,000 available in total \u00a345,000 has been set aside for projects aimed specifically at reducing litter entering the marine environment. It&#8217;s a two-stage application process &#8211; Stage One <strong>Expressions of Interest form for this round must be submitted by<\/strong> <span class=\"__postbox-detected-content __postbox-detected-date\">26th September 2017<\/span> and the application round closes for Stage Two on 17th November 2017. Following this initial round, further funding rounds will be made available, dates to be announced.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wrap.org.uk\/content\/litter-innovation-fund\" target=\"_blank\">All the information is here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Co-operative Bank Donation Fund Opens for Applications<\/h4>\n<p>Organisations such as Registered Charities, Community Interest Companies, Co-operatives and Credit Unions; etc. that have a Community Directplus account with the Co-operative Bank have until 30th September 2017 to apply for funding of up to \u00a31,000 from the Customer Donation Fund. Since 2003 the Co-operative Bank Donation Fund has donated over \u00a3750,000 to 866 organisations. The money can be used to support special projects and fundraising activities; and all Community Directplus account holders are eligible to apply. Examples of previous projects supported include: Theatre company 20 Stories High which received funding towards three dictaphones, 12 MP3 players and the work of an experienced Technical Manager in order to help develop and stage a new production; and Wiltshire Wood Recycling, a not for profit organisations, which received funding towards new tools, boots, hard hats and high-viz jackets for the workers.<\/p>\n<h4>DM Thomas Foundation Announces #IamABLE \u00a320,000 Giveaway<\/h4>\n<p>The DM Thomas Foundation for Young People, which supports charities that work with disadvantaged and disabled young people has announced the #IamABLE \u00a320,000 Giveaway in connection with their latest #IamABLE campaign. The aim of the #IamABLE campaign is to support actions that allows young people to achieve their potential. As part of the give away, the DM Thomas Foundation for Young People will be working with a group of their supporters from across the UK and Republic of Ireland who will help decide where the \u00a320,000 will be awarded. The winners will be announced on Monday 9 October 2017 via their social media channels on Twitter and Facebook. Registered charities are able to apply for up to \u00a35,000 through the #IamABLE \u00a320,000 Giveaway. <strong>The closing date for applications is 5pm on the 22nd September 2017<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h4>BBC Children in Need \u2013 Small Grants Programme<\/h4>\n<p>Not for profit organisations such as schools; registered charities; voluntary organisations; churches; and community interest groups; etc. can apply for grants of up to \u00a310,000 per year for up to 3 years for projects that help children and young people overcome the effects of illness, distress, abuse or neglect; disability; behavioural or psychological difficulties; and poverty and deprivation. Projects supported in the past include Trewirgie Junior School which received a grant of \u00a39,760 to provide after school sailing sessions to disadvantage children aged 7-11; the Midlothian Association of Play which received a grant of \u00a39,996 to run holiday playschemes with trips and activities for young people living in low income areas. <strong>The closing date for applications is the 1st December 2017<\/strong>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/programmes\/articles\/4fJVTzz5QmQx5rx0S4NVg0Q\/small-grants\" target=\"_blank\">Details here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Funding for Heritage Projects<\/h4>\n<p>Grants of over \u00a3100,000 are available to support a wide variety of larger heritage projects. The funding which is being made available through the Heritage Lottery Fund&#8217;s Heritage Grant Scheme is available to not-for-profit organisations; and partnerships led by not-for-profit organisations for any project relating to national, regional and local heritage. This can include This can include archaeological digs, preserve a historic places of worship, helping people learn long-lost traditional skills, look after rare species and habitats, etc. Projects supported in the past include a grant of \u00a3730,000 to the Richmondshire Building Preservation Trust Limited to transform Richmond Station in North Yorkshire into a self-sustaining heritage and leisure attraction for the local community. Heritage Grants applications go through a two-round process.
