fund launched to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A new \u00a384,000 fund has been launched to help voluntary and community groups in North East Lincolnshire tackle problems ranging from anti-social behaviour to domestic abuse.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>North East Lincolnshire Community Safety Partnership (CSP) Crime Reduction Fund<\/strong> opens for applications on Monday 3 July 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The new scheme has been funded by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.humberside-pcc.gov.uk\" target=\"_blank\">Police and Crime Commissioner for Humberside (PCC)<\/a> and is being managed by Voluntary Action North East Lincolnshire (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vanel.org.uk\">VANEL<\/a>) on behalf of the North East Lincolnshire CSP.<\/p>\n<p>Groups whose work addresses one or more of the following areas are invited to bid for up to \u00a35,000 from the fund:<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Overall crime<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Violent crime<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Domestic abuse<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Anti-social behaviour<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 High Demand Wards (East and West Marsh)<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Offending (including re-offending)<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Substance and alcohol misuse (including related harms and recovery rates)<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Promoting community cohesion and tackling hate crime<\/p>\n<p>Applicants must also show how they contribute to at least one of the following PCC aims:<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Deliver increasingly self-sustaining and safe communities in the Humber area;<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Build public confidence in the agencies involved in creating safer communities and<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Promote services to victims and the vulnerable that meet their needs<\/p>\n<p>There will be three bidding rounds before 31 March 2018 and the deadline for <strong>the first round of applications is 7 September 2017<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Applications will be evaluated by an independent panel and the results of the first round will be announced on 25 September 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The total amount available for the first year is \u00a384,375 with \u00a328,125 being allocated to each of the three bidding rounds.<\/p>\n<p>A maximum award of \u00a35,000 can be awarded to any one group in any one year.<\/p>\n<p>More details on the VANEL website via <a Constable (temporary) at Humberside Police, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Voluntary and community groups play a vital role in crime reduction but often their work goes unnoticed.<br \/>\nThis new fund has been set up for their direct benefit and to build on the valuable work they already do.<br \/>\nIt will provide opportunities to introduce new crime prevention ideas and design out future crime as well as helping to tackle and reduce criminality.<br \/>\nAll suggestions and proposals are welcome to help reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in our communities.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Deputy Chair, Cllr David Bolton, portfolio holder for Safer Communities and Public Protection at North East Lincolnshire Council, added:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The new fund is a great opportunity for voluntary and community groups to build on their work to help local people feel safe and be safe.<br \/>\nApplicants will need to show how their project contributes to the delivery of the PCC Police and Crime Plan and the North East Lincolnshire CSP Plan outcomes.<br \/>\nVANEL will be promoting the fund on its website and ensuring all community safety partners signpost to the documentation and information about the fund.<br \/>\nVANEL will also offer 1-2-1 project development support and advice on access to potential match funding sources as well as alternative funds if not eligible for this.<br \/>\nThe first of these 1-2-1 sessions will be held at the VANEL offices 23 Bargate Grimsby on Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 July 2017 from 9.30am to 4.30pm each day.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Keith Hunter, Police and Crime Commissioner for Humberside, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>One of the key aims of my Police and Crime Plan is to deliver increasingly self-sustaining and safe communities.
