Vital Signs is a community philanthropy tool bringing together existing research and community foundations local knowledge into two reports that provide a qualitative and quantitative health check, benchmark and needs analysis around ten (or more) social themes facing communities today. As a small Community Foundation we decided to frame our research around the following themes:<\/p>\n<p>Rurality, Transport &amp; Access to Services<br \/>\nHealthy Living and Well-being<br \/>\nWork, Education &amp; Learning<br \/>\nEnvironment<br \/>\nArts, Culture &amp; Heritage<br \/>\n(and a final theme Fairness &amp; Social Justice, scored via central and local deprivation indices only)<\/p>\n<p>In line with the vital signs guidance, the majority of the following questions are answered using the following scale:<\/p>\n<p>A Everything is great! Let\u2019s keep things that way!<br \/>\nB Things are going well, but we can make them better.<br \/>\nC The situation is OKAY, but could be improved.<br \/>\nD Things aren\u2019t going very well. We should take action as soon as possible.<br \/>\nE Things are going very badly.
