Our regular roundup of funding related news.\u00a0 There\u2019s more information about funding related support from VANEL here<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Humberside Youth Association Grant<\/a> Fund (HYA) is still available for applications. Round 2 closed recently with a number of successful applicants (read that story here<\/a>) and Round 3 is now open. The dates for this and round 4 have altered, so you now have until 29th September to get your applications in for round 3.\u00a0 Remember it’s up to \u00a3500 for individuals and \u00a32500 for groups available for projects that provide activities that could develop young peoples\u2019 physical, mental or spiritual capacities (for those aged 18-24).\u00a0 Applications are via VANEL.\u00a0 All the details and information is here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Richard will be holding appointments at VANEL offices on Tuesday 25th July to discuss applications to HYA. (More details in the Funding Surgeries section below).<\/p>\n

Funding Surgeries<\/strong><\/p>\n

We have a couple more Funding Surgery days now scheduled.\u00a0 After our April day with Sue Fortune from the Lincolnshire Community Foundation and our day with Gary Allen in early June we have a couple of dates now set for July.<\/p>\n

25th July for Tribune Trust<\/span><\/p>\n

On Tuesday 25th July, Paul Cheesman – Director at Tribune Trust – will be at VANEL offices for an appointments day.\u00a0 30 minute slots with Paul will be available by booking for anyone considering applying for Tribune Trust funding. See more below about the Tribune Trust specifically.<\/p>\n

25th July for Humberside Youth Association grant funding<\/span><\/p>\n

Also on 25th July will be a chance to book appointments with Richard Wendel-Jones from VANEL to discuss applications to round 3 of the Humberside Youth Association Funding pot (see above and here<\/a>).<\/p>\n

26th July for North East Lincolnshire Crime Reduction Fund<\/span><\/p>\n

Again, appointments with Richard to discuss this new fund administered by VANEL and launching properly at the start of July.\u00a0 Lots more information about this very shortly, but if you are interested there will be a chance to talk this through with Richard on the 25th.<\/p>\n

26th July with Gary Allen<\/span><\/p>\n

Our tame (and experienced) Funding Officer Gary Allen will be back at VANEL on Wednesday 26th July for another day of 1 to 1 appointments.\u00a0 Each one hour slot allows you to cover a range of funding questions and options with advice from Gary and sessions once again cost \u00a320 per slot for VANEL member organisations (or \u00a330 per slot for non-members).<\/p>\n

Booking:<\/em>
\nAll the appointments on 25th July with Richard or Paul Cheesman are free but by booking only.\u00a0 VANEL member organisations get preference so non-member organisations can book but will be put on a waiting list until a few days before the event before appointments can be confirmed.<\/p>\n

About the Tribune Trust<\/strong><\/p>\n

High Sheriffs are the Sovereign’s representative for all matters relating to the Judiciary and the maintenance of law and order in their county. Our Patrons are the Lord Lieutenants of the county of the East Riding of Yorkshire and the county of Lincolnshire.\u00a0 Our Trustees are serving, former and future High Sheriffs of these counties together with leaders from local businesses and Humberside Police; Humberside Fire and Rescue Service and others involved with community safety.<\/p>\n

The Trust\u2019s steering group meets to consider grant applications in January, May, July and October each year. It is led by a Chair and coordinated by the Director, each of whom is elected annually (currently Paul Cheesman). On the 25th July you can have an informal chat with Paul about your ideas to see if it fits with the trusts’ aims.\u00a0 If you already have a firm plan then the application forms are available on their website above.\u00a0 It’s a great opportunity to find out about the Trust’s work in person and share your ideas to support it.<\/p>\n

Proposals to the trust need to contribute to one of the following themes: protecting vulnerable victims; promoting good citizenship; promoting sport and active recreation; tackling drug and alcohol misuse; or tackling crime and disorder.\u00a0 Useful examples of the types of project that the trust has recently funded are on their website.<\/p>\n

Applications dates approaching<\/strong><\/p>\n

The East Coast Community Fund<\/a> is now open again for applications.
\nClosing date is 2 August 2017.<\/p>\n

The \u00a310 million Community Business Fund<\/a> opened on 7 June<\/span> and closes on 5 July at 12<\/span> midday.\u00a0Find out if you are eligible.<\/a>\u00a0 They award grants between \u00a350,000 \u2013 \u00a3300,000 to community businesses in England.<\/p>\n

Support with Funding via VANEL<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re aged 18-30 and are setting up a project where you might need funding, then why not talk to the IGNITE team at VANEL.\u00a0 They\u2019re here to work closely with you to get funding applications done!\u00a0 A number of younger people have now worked with the IGNITE team to make grant applications and have been successful.\u00a0 If you don’t ask, we can’t help!<\/p>\n

VANEL can also offer simple grant searches using our grant database to groups in Membership.\u00a0 Contact Karl Elliott for information or to arrange help.<\/p>\n

We can also offer a Critical Friend service to help you get your funding applications right.\u00a0 It’s still you preparing your bids and getting the application submitted, but we can look it over, help with ideas and wording and generally help you fine tune it before submission.\u00a0 Fees will apply.<\/p>\n
