The awards, formerly the Sports Club of the Year Awards, changed their name to reflect the wide variety of members\u2019 activities and include new categories to recognise the breadth of work that is carried out by the sport and recreation sector as a whole.<\/p>\n<p>This year, awards and prize money will be presented for the categories of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Professional Community Programme of the Year Award \u2013 sponsored by The Professional Footballers\u2019 Association.<\/li>\n<li>Added Social Value Award \u2013 sponsored by Substance.<\/li>\n<li>Volunteering Award \u2013 sponsored by Join In.<\/li>\n<li>Mental Health Award \u2013 sponsored by Hiscox.<\/li>\n<li>Innovation Project Award.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each of the five category winners will receive \u00a31,000 to help boost their work.<\/p>\n<p>Any club, programme, scheme or initiative representing any of the Sport and Recreation Alliance\u2019s 313 members sports or recreational activities is eligible to apply for the awards <strong><em>except*<\/em><\/strong> for winners of the previous award categories in 2016, or clubs or programmes of which a Sport or Recreation Alliance staff member has an interest in.<\/p>\n<p>The Awards are free to enter, and clubs can make multiple applications in different categories.
