The organisation\u2019s commitment to hearing public voices is a routine and crucial part of how NICE develop their guidance and standards. For this reason, they feel it is important that they review their whole approach to lay involvement \u2013 to find out how they can improve on what they\u2019re doing already, and how they can \u2018future proof\u2019 this work as NICE continues to change and develop.<\/p>\n
After carrying out a year-long review, which involved talking to stakeholders – both inside and outside NICE – and reviewing studies of best practice for layperson involvement, they\u2019ve taken all of this information on board and converted it into a set of principles and proposals.<\/p>\n
This consultation is now open for comments and will run until 28th February 2017.<\/p>\n\n
