The Local Youth Social Action Programme\u00a0is offering grants of between \u00a31,000 and \u00a35,000 to groups working with young people between the ages of 10 and 20 years old (or 25 for young people with learning disabilities) living in Greater Lincolnshire. The Big Lottery and government Office for Civil Society have invested \u00a32million across the UK for local groups to work with young people and encourage them to become more involved in their local communities.\u00a0 \u00a330,000 plus local match funding of \u00a330,000 will be available for allocation in 2017.<\/p>\n
They want to fund enjoyable projects that build and share skills and demonstrate a positive impact on the wider community (eg sports, volunteering, environmental\/conservation, intergenerational, mentoring, befriending, local action groups etc). Those who take part should have fun, make friends, try new things, develop new skills and get involved locally. Projects do not have to be led by a youth group, can be for one off events and repeat funding is a possibility.\u00a0 However, the fund will not cover general youth club provision or capital costs.<\/p>\n
Closing dates for receipt of applications are on 1 April and 1 August 2017.\u00a0 Applicants will be notified within 4-6 weeks and those who are successful should achieve full spend within one year of receipt of funding.\u00a0 The fund is open to registered charities, constituted community groups and other charitable organisations, but statutory organisations aren\u2019t eligible to apply.<\/p>\n
