{"id":13174,"date":"2016-12-14T14:46:32","date_gmt":"2016-12-14T14:46:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/va\/?p=13174"},"modified":"2016-12-14T14:47:16","modified_gmt":"2016-12-14T14:47:16","slug":"merry-christmas-from-vanels-community-health-champions-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/va\/2016\/12\/merry-christmas-from-vanels-community-health-champions-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Merry Christmas From VANEL&#8217;s Community Health Champions Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With Christmas just around the corner and 2016 drawing to a close, it&#8217;s time to take a look back at the past three months of VANEL&#8217;s community Health Champions project, and look ahead at what&#8217;s planned for 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The past few months have been an absolute wirlwind and the CHC project has been going from strength to strength. CHC project coordinator Vickie Ehret, along with her team of newly recruited volunteers have been working hard to promote messages about health and wellbeing at a variety of locations across North East Lincolnshire.<\/p>\n<p>Back in October, the CHC project received a grant of \u00a36,250 from the Morrisons Foundation and secured a regular spot holding an information stand at the Cleethorpes branch of Morrisons in Laceby.\u00a0 Here, members of the public can receive free information on, and be signposted to, organisations which can offer them support and advice regarding specific health related matters. In November alone, the CHC project successfully engaged with 165 people, demonstrating the importance of the project and the demand for health information within the local community.
