{"id":11524,"date":"2016-08-11T11:14:15","date_gmt":"2016-08-11T10:14:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/va\/?p=11524"},"modified":"2016-08-11T13:05:58","modified_gmt":"2016-08-11T12:05:58","slug":"funding-round-up-13","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/va\/2016\/08\/funding-round-up-13\/","title":{"rendered":"Funding Round up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here is a selection of some of the recent funding articles that have come our way over the past couple of weeks:<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greggsfoundation.org.uk\/grants\/local-community-projects-fund\">FUNDING: for local community projects<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Grants of up to \u00a32,000 are available from Greggs Foundation\u2019s Local Community Projects Fund for projects supporting people in need at the heart of local communities. This includes people who are: disabled or suffering chronic illness; living in poverty; voluntary carers; homeless; and isolated older people. Eligible projects should improve resilience within the community and can include sessional activities\/respite support, equipment for sessional activities, trips and residential breaks. The deadline for applications is 30th September.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.j4bcommunity.co.uk\/Launch.aspx?wuseruid=BMT3269U6A&amp;dscode=J4BGR3&amp;newsitemid=252-N59870\"><strong>Postcode Dream Fund 2017 to Open in August<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Postcode Dream Fund 2017 will open to applications from registered charities and community organisations in England, Scotland and Wales on 15 August 2016.<\/p>\n<p>The Dream Fund was created to encourage charities to collaborate and apply for their dream project, the project they have always wanted to deliver but never had the opportunity to do so.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/life-chances-fund\">Life Chances Fund<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is a government funded initiative with the following aims:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increasing the number and scale of Social Impact Bonds (SIBs) in England.<\/li>\n<li>Making it easier and quicker to set up a SIB.<\/li>\n<li>Generating public sector efficiencies by delivering better outcomes and using this to understand how cashable savings are.<\/li>\n<li>Increasing social innovation and building a clear evidence base of what works.<\/li>\n<li>Increasing the amount of capital available to a wider range of voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector providers to enable them to compete for public sector contracts.<\/li>\n<li>Providing better evidence of the effectiveness of the SIB mechanism and the savings that are being accrued.<\/li>\n<li>Growing the scale of the social investment market.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.efficiencynorth.org\/what-we-do\/community-investment-fund\/\">Enable Community Investment Fund<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The EN:Able Community Investment Fund (formerly known as the Frameworks 4 Good Fund) is one of the consortium\u2019s delivery vehicles for social and economic regeneration in the communities of its social housing\u00a0 landlord members.\u00a0 It opens for applications from community groups working across Yorkshire and Humber once a year from August to October.<br \/>\nIn its first 4 rounds of funding (2012-2015) the Fund has awarded a total of nearly \u00a3250k to 90 projects.<\/p>\n<p>The fund will open again for applications on 17 August 2016 with a closing date of 28 October 2016.<\/p>\n<p>To offer as much assistance as possible to all community groups interested in applying to the fund, Efficiency North is hosting 3 free events in the West, South and East of the region.<\/p>\n<p>WEST<br \/>\n<span class=\"postbox-detected-content\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">Tuesday 16 August 2016<\/span><\/span> 10am-12.30pm<br \/>\nThe Glasshoughton Community Centre<br \/>\nLeeds Road, Glasshoughton, WF10 4PF<\/p>\n<p>SOUTH<br \/>\nWednesday 17 August 2016 10am-12.30pm<br \/>\nThe Ivanhoe Centre, Gardens Lane,<br \/>\nConisbrough, Doncaster, <span style=\"font-size: inherit;\"><span class=\"postbox-detected-content\">DN12<\/span><\/span> 3JX<\/p>\n<p>HUMBER<br \/>\n<span class=\"postbox-detected-content\"><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">Thursday 18 August 2016<\/span><\/span> 2-4pm<br \/>\nVictoria Dock Village Hall, South Bridge Road, Victoria Dock, Hull, HU9 1TL<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kingsfund.org.uk\/projects\/gsk-impact-awards\">The GSK IMPACT Award<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The GSK IMPACT Award has been running since 1997 and is designed to recognise and reward charities that are doing excellent work to improve people&#8217;s health. The award, which is in its 20<sup>th<\/sup> year, is organised and managed in partnership with The King\u2019s Fund, a leading independent health charity working to improve health and social care. The award is open to registered charities that are at least three years old, working in a health-related field in the UK, and with a total annual income of between \u00a325,000 and \u00a32 million.<\/p>\n<p>The award is designed to recognise success and achievements for existing work so you don\u2019t have to present a new project when you apply. Up to ten winners will receive \u00a330,000 unrestricted funding with one overall winner receiving \u00a340,000. Up to ten runners-up will receive \u00a33,000, so it&#8217;s well worth applying. Furthermore, each winning organisation will receive free training and development valued at up to \u00a36,000, a specially commissioned professional film and photographs along with publicity and press support.<\/p>\n<p>A shortlisting panel will review all the applications and mark them against the IMPACT criteria. Up to 20 organisations will be shortlisted. In November 2016 all shortlisted organisations will be visited by an independent assessor. Final judging takes place in January 2017 by a panel consisting of experts in community health and health related issues, to select the GSK IMPACT Award winners. All shortlisted organisations will be notified by early February 2017. GSK IMPACT Award winners will be presented with their award at a high profile ceremony in London in May 2017. \u00a0Organisations registered in the UK but working in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland can apply.
