{"id":11406,"date":"2016-07-29T10:18:20","date_gmt":"2016-07-29T09:18:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/va\/?p=11406"},"modified":"2016-07-29T10:18:20","modified_gmt":"2016-07-29T09:18:20","slug":"brexit-and-european-funding-update-from-tap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/va\/2016\/07\/brexit-and-european-funding-update-from-tap\/","title":{"rendered":"Brexit and European Funding \u2013 update from TAP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following the tumultuous events of the last few weeks, we (Technical Assistance Partnership) have been considering the news of the vote to leave the EU and its potential impact in relation to the future of the European Structural and Investment Funds.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst we are aware that the vote to leave will have far reaching implications, the consequences of the vote to leave will only emerge over time and therefore we cannot comment on what this will mean in practical terms at the moment. \u00a0The timescales for change mean that it must remain \u2018business as usual\u2019 for the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n<p>In due course the UK government will serve notice to leave the EU under Article 50 of the EU Treaty but only then does it trigger the two year process to agree the process for exit. \u00a0It may take additional time to formally exit the EU. \u00a0While we will inevitably see changes in UK legislation, this will not happen immediately, and EU legislation and agreements remain applicable until formally removed.
