First Utility Foundation<\/strong> is Accepting Applications for First Round of 2016<\/p>\n UK registered charities that are working with vulnerable families and children, older people and disabled people can apply now for funding for projects that address at least one of the following areas:<\/p>\n The Foundation is particularly interested in supporting initiatives that can demonstrate a track record in reaching marginalised communities and\/or delivering innovative solutions to alleviate suffering.<\/p>\n There are two levels of funding:<\/p>\n The funding will not cover capital projects.<\/p>\n There is a two-stage application process.<\/p>\n The deadline for initial applications is 29 February 2016.<\/p>\n http:\/\/www.first-utility-foundation.org.uk\/apply-for-grant\/<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Community Trees Fund<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Funding for community groups proposing to undertake well-planned tree planting projects during National Tree Week, 26 November to 4 December 2016, or as soon as possible afterwards. Deadline is 31 March.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Long-term government funding for youth project<\/strong><\/p>\n The government will continue to fund the British Youth Council<\/a> (BYC) to support its Youth Voice initiative until 2020, youth minister Rob Wilson has announced.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Greggs Foundation<\/strong> aims to make a difference to people in need at the heart of their local communities. It has a number of funds which aim to address the needs of disadvantaged local communities. We are delighted to announce a new programme, funded by the 5p levy on carrier bag sales in Greggs shops, that aims to improve people’s lives by improving their environments.<\/p>\n http:\/\/www.greggsfoundation.org.uk\/environmental-grants<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Britain’s Best Volunteer Award 2016<\/a> <\/strong><\/p>\n Markel UK and Small Charities Coalition have announced the return of the Britain’s Best Volunteer award for 2016. The award celebrates the achievements of those who volunteer their time to help small, local charities, community groups and not-for-profit organisations.\u00a0This year’s winner will receive \u00a31,250 for the charity of their choice and a personal prize of a holiday voucher worth \u00a31,000. Deadline is 29 February.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Armed Forces Day<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Funding is available to help with Armed Forces Day festivities. Whether you’re having a tea party or a parade, anyone can submit an application! You can apply for 50% of your event cost, up to a limit of \u00a310,000. Previous years have seen bids from a few hundred pounds for a street party to thousands of pounds to support larger events. Deadline is 26 March.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Comic Relief: Sport Relief Community Cash Fund<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n The Sport Relief Community Cash grants programme has opened again in most parts of the UK and is inviting applications from constituted not-for-profit groups. Grants of between \u00a3500 and \u00a31,000 are available for work that helps people of all ages feel more included in their community, builds their skills and increases their sense of achievement.<\/p>\n\n
