We are very keen to make sure that our partners and businesses within the area are aware that Humberside Fire Authority is consulting on a number of options relating to how we deploy our fire engines, as part of our Operational Efficiency Programme.<\/p>\n

In 2012\/13, Humberside Fire and Rescue Service consulted with the public on a range of options that had been developed to reduce the cost of the operational part of the service. Some of those options were implemented and, as a result, realised savings of \u00a32.5m. However, following the Government\u2019s spending review, the Service needs to make further significant savings to meet its budget short fall.<\/p>\n

To go some way to achieve the savings required, Humberside Fire and Rescue Service is again consulting on a range of options which could be implemented whilst still allowing the Service to meet the challenging response standards set by the Fire Authority. All of the options include reducing the number of fire engines and have been publicly discussed previously, one of the options was formally consulted upon, but was not approved for implementation at that time.<\/p>\n

You are invited to participate in our consultation sessions to learn about a range of options, whilst providing the opportunity to make suggestions for alternative ways to make savings.<\/p>\n

Information about the options and an online survey is available on the Service\u2019s\u00a0website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Consultation starts on Monday 11 January 2016 and events will be taking place throughout the six week consultation period for members of the public to attend.<\/p>\n
