{"id":10578,"date":"2015-12-09T08:35:49","date_gmt":"2015-12-09T08:35:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/va\/?p=10578"},"modified":"2015-12-09T08:35:49","modified_gmt":"2015-12-09T08:35:49","slug":"giving-tuesday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/va\/2015\/12\/giving-tuesday\/","title":{"rendered":"Giving Tuesday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/faithaction.us3.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=992de51a37933ce5a11ccf646&amp;id=d577e53601&amp;e=698bc4dc99\">The Charities Aid Foundation has said<\/a> that this year&#8217;s Giving Tuesday, December 1st, featured a large rise in charitable giving, with many donation platforms reporting increases of up to 50% on last year&#8217;s, with \u00a31.25m raised via JustGiving and over \u00a36,250 being donated every minute on Visa cards.<\/p>\n<p>The day also received widespread support from a range of high-profile stars, large businesses and politicians. The Cabinet Office also announced <a href=\"http:\/\/faithaction.us3.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=992de51a37933ce5a11ccf646&amp;id=f76bf5335b&amp;e=698bc4dc99\">a range of new measures<\/a> to help support social action.<\/p>\n<p>Giving Tuesday was originally founded in the US in 2012, as an &#8216;antidote&#8217; to the shopping-focused days of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
