{"id":353,"date":"2012-11-09T11:16:27","date_gmt":"2012-11-09T11:16:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/va\/?page_id=353"},"modified":"2012-11-09T11:38:08","modified_gmt":"2012-11-09T11:38:08","slug":"restorative-practice","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/va\/restorative-practice\/","title":{"rendered":"Restorative Practice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/va\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/rp1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-354\" title=\"rp1\" src=\"http:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/va\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/rp1-300x244.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"244\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/va\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/rp2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-355\" title=\"rp2\" src=\"http:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/va\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/rp2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"685\" height=\"370\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The initial decision to become a restorative borough was proposed in December 2010 and accepted at NELSP.<\/p>\n<p>Initial internal partnership funding was contributed by Humberside Probation, \u00a32.5k Safer and Stronger Communities\u00a31k, Integrated Young Peoples services \u00a31k and Youth offending Services \u00a31k followed by \u00a32k with VANEL as the project Bankers<\/p>\n<p>\u00a318.5k was secured from the closure of Community Mediation Service in April 2012 (ring fenced for actual delivery of conflict resolutions in the community) and a further \u00a32k was received from the Police Authority in August 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Resources for project delivery stand at circa \u00a39.5k (with various spends against this such as production of training manuals) with a further circa \u00a3600 made from the sale of Manuals to third parties.<\/p>\n<p>Cost of manuals is \u00a35.65 \u2013 sale price is \u00a310 (with delivery costs re-couped)<\/p>\n<p>Other costs against this regards professional membership fees \u00a335 for the Restorative Justice Council<\/p>\n<p>Training costs are subsumed into partnership work \u2013 training staff in kind for venues and<\/p>\n<p>Internal charges, costs and employment fees are not included in the above \u2013 which remains for project delivery.<\/p>\n<h4>2011\/2012<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/va\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/rp3.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-361\" title=\"rp3\" src=\"http:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/va\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/rp3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"874\" height=\"272\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>\u00a02012\/2013<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/va\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/rp4.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-362\" title=\"rp4\" src=\"http:\/\/vanel.org.uk\/va\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/rp4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"845\" height=\"290\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Dates and ledger entries for Brighton and Hove need to be amended to reflect actual figures but the circa amounts are almost correct.<\/p>\n<p>Roll out<\/p>\n<p>Some organisations have decided to implement restorative practices throughout their organisations, including restorative leadership, management of people and morning circles to engender a community.<\/p>\n<p>Providing a seamless approach to disciplinarianism and behaviour management in education \u2013 primary schools, academies and FHE institutions are beginning to adopt the restorative approach. Some have circles, others have bullying strategies that accommodate RP, whilst others are using RP for staff and student conflict issues.<\/p>\n<p>Humberside Probation Trust have established a restorative specifided activity that magistrates can use at the sentencing stage, and this is being written into policy documents that it will be observed in the main.<\/p>\n<p>There are three trainers established in NEL. Having trained a total of 90 people, staff, volunteers, community leads, victim workers, Police Officers, Youth workers and coaches, YOS Panel members.<\/p>\n<p>YOS trainers schooled in IIRP deliver<\/p>\n<p>IIRP Restorative Practices and conferencing.<\/p>\n<p>RPC offers<\/p>\n<p>RJTF Restorative Justice and high sensitivity for victims as trained by the RJTF, Restorative
