An Introduction to Trusteeship<\/strong><\/h6>\n
a short training course aimed at helping newer Trustees to properly understand their roles and responsibilities<\/blockquote>\n

VANEL continues to champion effective governance for charities and community groups, so we provide a number cost effective courses to help you to proactively support your own trustees.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Currently we are offering:
\n“An Introduction to Trusteeship”<\/strong> – covering roles and responsibilities of trustees
\n“Developing your board”<\/strong>
\n“Technology for Trustees”<\/strong><\/p>\n

This course<\/h5>\n

This training session is aimed at new charity Trustees (or those needing a refresher). It\u2019s for charity trustees rather than simply committee members.\u00a0 The session will cover all the basics that you need to know:\u00a0 your role, your responsibilities, what legal issues do you need to consider, how you should behave, what skills or approaches do you need.\u00a0 We\u2019ll demystify trusteeship and all the terminology so that you\u2019re able to concentrate on your role supporting your charity.<\/p>\n

We will cover<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Amongst other things, we’ll be looking at:
\n– the basic terminology and definitions around the Trustee and Governance role
\n– trusteeship as an opportunity and a responsibility
\n– the legal trustee
\n– the principled trustee
\n– the well behaved trustee
\n– the skilled trustee
\n– the effective trustee
\n– the well supported trustee
\n– the valued trustee<\/p>\n

If you’re unfamiliar with your role, or would like a refresher, then this is a straightforward opportunity to find out more.<\/p>\n

Practicalities<\/h5>\n

Dates and venues vary, but most sessions are held at VANEL offices at the Willows, 23 Bargate, Grimsby<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Space is limited for each course, so please book early.\u00a0 We may also restrict attendance to 2 attendees per organisation.\u00a0 However, at your request, there is also an option for us to run each course specifically for a single organisation\/board at a convenient time or venue.
