Every Trustee or Committee member of a charity or voluntary organisation has shared responsibility for oversight of the finances.  However, many (most) trustees often defer to the Treasurer and external auditors, perhaps glance across the financial paperwork presented and have only a vague understanding of charity finances in detail.  This is of course both understandable but also a considerable risk.  Responsibility is shared but knowledge often is not.

This short course/workshop will cover the range of financial topics that are relevant to trustees and committees and that everyone should have that working knowledge of.

We are not accountants or auditors or advisors. But we understand these financial topics and can present them and discuss them with you in ways to remove the complexity and confusion and help you understand to a level that empowers you in your board meetings to ‘understand what is going on’.

So if you have a good understanding already of charity finance, this is not for you.  But if you are a general committee member or trustee looking to understand the difference between general, restricted or designated funding streams, to understand financial reporting structures and to be clearer on a range of other complex sounding financial terms, then this session is for you.  Any Trustee will benefit.

Booking essential.
Normally held at VANEL offices, Grimsby
£20 per attendee for Member/Friend organisations (or £30 for non-members)
